Meet Perky By Nature an Australian company making bamboo fibre reusable coffee cups, made with the environment in mind.

What ignited the spark for Perky? How did the idea for your business come about?
Last year’s shocking news from ABC’s War On Waste that coffee cups weren’t recyclable really kickstarted Perky by Nature. I was always a big fan of the take-away cups feel and never really found a non-disposable alternative that I actually enjoyed drinking out of, and would make me want to reuse. I started looking into sustainable materials combined with something that looked and felt like a take-away cup and discovered bamboo fibre. At the time I was working as a barista and barista instructor, didn’t have the means to start the business myself so I started a very successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to get Perky going, 6 months later… here we are!
